New to the range are hybrid versions of the high-volume product lines Audi A6, A7, A8 and Q5 – they are also making their public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2019. The Audi e-tron and the e-tron Sportback use components from Audi’s modular longitudinal platform (MLB). Developed by Audi, this concept has been used since 2007. Enhanced with numerous innovative technologies, especially in drive systems, a separate product family of e-SUVs is being developed with electric quattro all-wheel drive. Fast charging with of up to 150 kW and a range suitable for long-distance travel are the benchmark in this class.
Audi is working on its e-offensive in close cooperation with other Volkswagen Group brands, which leverages enormous synergies. In the high-volume A segment, Audi will be using the Volkswagen Group’s modular e-drive platform (MEB).
Premium Architecture Electrification (PPE) is a joint project of the Audi and Porsche R&D departments. This forms the basis for several Audi model families with all-electric drive covering the high-volume B through D market segments. PPE is designed exclusively for electric drive. This offers advantages in terms of weight and body proportions.
