1) General information
Volkswagen AG uses various types of cookies on its websites. Cookies are small files that contain configuration information and are stored on your device. They can be divided into three categories. Some cookies (function cookies) are essential for the functionality of the website. Other cookies (convenience cookies) enhance the usability of a website visit, for example, by saving your language settings. Another type of cookie (tracking cookies) creates a pseudonymized usage profile.
The processing of function cookies is necessary to enable you to use the website (cf. Article 6 para 1 (b) GDPR).
The legal basis for convenience cookies is a legitimate interest (Article 6 para 1 (f) GDPR). This legitimate interest lies in the provision of an added convenience when visiting the website. You can disallow the processing of your data at any time with effect for the future by preventing the storage of cookies in your browser settings.
Tracking cookies are only set if the website visitor has given their consent (Art. 6 para 1 (a) GDPR) by actively clicking on the cookie banner.
For further information about our cookies, please refer to the Cookie Guidelines and read the following information.
The DRIVE website uses software from the web analysis provider Matomo to evaluate user access. Every time you access the site, your IP address is forwarded to a server with the Matomo web analysis software. This server is operated by the IT service provider makandra GmbH, Augsburg, on behalf of Volkswagen AG. Your IP address is immediately anonymized after transmission on the server with the web analysis software. For this purpose, your IP address is shortened by the last 16 bits or 2 octets when using the Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4) or by 80 bits or 10 octets when using the Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6). This makes a personal reference to the anonymized IP address impossible. The web analysis software then processes the anonymized IP address for statistical evaluation of the access. The anonymization of your IP address for the purpose of statistical evaluation of the access is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 (f) GDPR).
The legitimate interest of Volkswagen AG lies in evaluating the media use of website users in order to optimize and further develop the content, including texts, photos, videos and navigation to meet the requirements of website users.
Objection to the anonymization of your IP address for the purpose of statistical evaluation
At this point you can object to the anonymization of your IP address for the purpose of statistical evaluation. Deactivate this checkbox if you do not agree to your IP address being made anonymous for the purpose of statistical analysis.
In order to ensure that your objection remains stored during future visits to this website, a so-called ‘opt-out cookie’ is set. This assumes that the setting in your browser does not prevent the storage of cookies for this website or delete the cookie. After deleting the opt-out cookie, you will have to activate the checkbox again. If you have any questions regarding user data, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org.
You may assert your rights as outlined below against Volkswagen AG at any time free-of-charge. For further information concerning the exercise of your rights, please see section E.
