Fun for children and parents can pause for breath: With our Memory game, even our youngest explore the world of e-mobility.
Expensive, dangerous, unpredictable: there are many reservations about electric cars. We concentrate on seven – and fact check them.
The establishment of a dense public network of ultra-fast e-vehicle charging stations can be realized much faster than previously assumed. E.ON and Volkswagen Group Components are giving a new impetus with the prototype of a new, flexible ultra-fast charging station that will be presented in Essen.
Volkswagen provides a glimpse into the future in which the search for charging stations for electric cars comes to an end. Volkswagen Group Components’ mobile charging robot takes over this task – and drives to the electric car completely autonomously.
Young talent meets the future. The top-49 Volkswagen Group trainees in 2019 visited the e-mobility exhibition in DRIVE.
The start of production of the Volkswagen ID.3* again raises the question of the most sustainable mobility technology in many places: Electric battery or hydrogen? We explain where the decisive advantages of the electric drive over the fuel cell currently lie. And why there is no alternative to Volkswagen’s decision to consistently promote e-mobility.
Volkswagen’s electric offensive is picking up speed: Today saw the official start of series production of the ID.3. The first car in the new generation of electric vehicles (EVs) – a white ID.3 – rolled off the assembly line watched by Federal Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel and Group CEO Dr. Herbert Diess.

The MEB is what is behind the new all-electric Volkswagen ID. Family, or better yet, what is beneath. Marco Könnemann from the development team for the modular electric drive matrix (German abbreviation: MEB) describes his moments of success and explains why an electric car is now an option for him.
Even Kaiser Wilhelm owned an electric car. The history of the e-vehicle – especially in Berlin – is longer than that of cars powered by combustion engines. Many of the discussions focusing on e-mobility today are based on the same issues talked about more than a century ago.

The specified fuel consumption and emission data are determined in accordance with the measurement procedures prescribed by law. 1 January 2022, the WLTP test cycle completely replaced the NEDC test cycle and therefore no NEDC values are available for new type approved vehicles after that date. This information does not refer to a single vehicle and is not part of the offer but is only intended for comparison between different types of vehicles. Additional equipment and accessories (additional components, tyre formats, etc.) can alter relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics, affecting the vehicle’s fuel consumption, power consumption, CO₂ emissions and driving performance values in addition to weather and traffic conditions and individual driving behavior. Due to more realistic testing conditions, fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions measured according to WLTP will in many cases be higher than the values measured according to NEDC. As a result, the taxation of vehicles may change accordingly as of 1 September 2018. For further information on the differences between WLTP and NEDC, please visit www.volkswagen.de/wltp. Further information on official fuel consumption data and official specific CO₂ emissions for new passenger cars can be found in the “Guide to fuel economy, CO₂ emissions and power consumption for new passenger car models”, which is available free of charge from all sales dealerships and from DAT Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH, Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, D-73760 Ostfildern, Germany and at www.dat.de/co2.
